There’s nothing like that first passport stamp!

Whether it’s a first-time trip to Europe or Africa to touch and see what they are learning in school, or practicing a new language with the “locals”, there are many ways to combine history, food, culture and adventure in travel.… gladiator lessons at the Colloseum in Rome,  walking through Churchill’s underground bunker in London, standing on the stone foundation of the Bastille in Paris, learning to flamenco dance in Spain,  climbing up the Acropolis in Athens,  sleeping under a tent with Kenyan Maasai standing guard…

The Caribbean islands and their colonial history and lovely people are a great place to learn snorkel and sail..and what family can’t help but grow closer sharing a chartered sailboat or a private villa or cottage for a week! 

Adventures in Mexico, Central and South America are numerous…Mayan and Incan ruins, zip lines and snorkeling in cenotes, fishing for piranha in the Amazon River, boating through the locks of the Panama Canal,  sailing with a naturalist among the Galapagos Islands…

Our country offers incredible experiences. Trips to Boston, New York, Chicago and San Francisco present opportunities for shopping, museums of history and major league sporting events.  Our Rocky Mountains are great places to learn to ski, or master the skill.  The wildlife in our National Parks and the Dude Ranches and Wilderness Lodges give opportunities to get up close with bears or kayak alongside whales.  And, our Hawaiian islands share a touch of Polynesia, the history of Pearl Harbor and Volcano National Park.
